Original Zombie

Made specifically for our Revisiting Romero episode.

Given that Romero is seen as the father of the modern zombie, it's only fitting that the cocktail to accompany his episode is a recreation of the original Zombie Punch from 1934. The story behind this cocktail is pretty fascinating... if you're interested you can read about it here.

COCKTAIL CONCOCTION: ORIGINAL ZOMBIE

Combine the following in an electric blender:

.75oz Fresh lime juice

.5oz Falernum (Recipe here)

1.5oz Gold Rum (Bacardi)

1.5oz Dark Rum (Myers/Kraken)

1oz 151 proof Rum

.5oz Don’s mix (2 parts fresh grapefruit juice, 1 part cinnamon simple syrup)

1 tsp Grenadine

6 drops Pernod

Dash of Angostura bitters

6oz Crushed ice

Blend for no more than 5 seconds and pour into a tall glass. Fill with ice.
